Majorca next week

Can anyone - anyone!!! - out there confirm I have this right for what is needed to travel from UK to Majorca next week please:

  • both adults double vaxxed last jab a month ago. Both have downloaded the QR code Covid vacc record on phone from NHS app
  • can either find a place in Majorca to PCR test within 3 days of return or use a UK video one eg Collinson which provides a fit to fly test after LFT - are either definitely acceptable?
  • book a Day 2 test locally when we get back (or book when we are away for the day of return at airport?)

Any confirmation and recommendations really appreciated!!

Hiya I was looking intensely at this only yesterday with all the different rulings etc the only thing I can add is you have to fill out a passenger locator form which you have to add the confirmed booking reference of the day 2 test before you arrive in England.

Yes. And you need to complete a Spanish health check form online no sooner than 48 hours before travel.
DS is off next week to Majorca.
Just double check with your hotel that they don't need proof of a pcr pre travel negative test. I've read that some do!
If attending a clinic in person for pcr test before coming back, some specify you need to attend wearing a ffp3 mask.

Before travelling out that is.

I'd also print a hard copy of all this online proof and take it with you, just in case!

If you're going to the Majorca from the uk as of 1st July you need proof of negative test or proof of double vaccination for all travellers over the age of 12 (12 and over). As someone said you need to complete Spanish passenger form.

The negative test / double vaccination is not at the discretion of the hotel. I would expect you will be asked to show that at the uk airport before you are allowed to board.

Let me know how you get on!! What are you doing about testing two days before you come back? Are you doing the video thingy or doing it in Majorca?

Does anyone know if we are travelling back on a Tuesday if we can get a test there the preceding Saturday? As everywhere seems closed Sunday and worried Monday is cutting it a bit fine.....

From what I hear most testing sites are open all week.

Plus antigen is fine for coming back and those results are sometimes 30 minutes later

Hello when are you heading to Majorca? I was wanting to ask do you have travel insurance specific for Covid and contracting it there? We were all ready to book but then realised say we do do the test before leaving for the UK and one of us is positive (would be unlucky but you never know??) Then I would think about insurance for the extended stay of quarantining and also who wants to quarantine with 2 kids in the heat????? Im so confused and UK holidays seem to be sold out where we would like to go or just over priced ..

@Beebopawhop staysure insurance covers you if you have to cancel due to positive covid tests or track and trace. It also covers some expenses if you get a positive when over there, but doesn't stipulate how much.
Bottom line is it's a risky endeavour so rightly no insurance company will cover all the possibilities.

Who did you book it with OP ? JET2, TUI etc have sent emails out to their passengers with a pre departure check list for their destination. Look to your airline or tour operator for advice
Have a great time. Everyone I know that has travelled recently has said its been totally worth it!

I booked with EasyJet and booking.com and pretty sure I'm clear now - unless they change it all again that is Grin

I've done the Spanish health app thingy and have QR code, have NHS app w double vaxx proof (plus have printed both these off on case phone dies etc).

Someone comes to hotel the day before we fly back and can do antigen test there. Will fill in PLF for UK day before fly joke and book day 2 test just before so can add booking ref to form.

Think that's it!!

Beebop - we go tomorrow and have staysure insurance. Seems the best cover.

Packages eg TUI have Covid cover if you contract it before you depart and can't go etc.

WE ARE HERE!!!!!

Gatwick was a ghost town, and breezed through Palma airport. Took 45 minutes from landing on tarmac to leaving with checked in luggage.

IT IS BLISS!!!! Anyone considering it, DO IT!! Feels safer here than at home tbh. And it's sunny and heavenly and oh my GOD abroad I have missed you.

You need to download the NHS app (not the covid one, the general one) and set it up to access your records
