Where's nice to stay in Cornwall?

Thinking of going to Cornwall next summer with DH and our two DDs (who will be 5 and 3 by then). A bit confused where best in Cornwall to as Newquay, St Ives, etc all look lovely. Ideally I think it would be easier to stay more to the East of Cornwall as we will be driving from the South East, and it'll be a long drive for us. Are there any holiday parks which are child friendly without being too 'full on' and ideally not too far from a beach? Obviously nowhere in Cornwall is going to be cheap in August but ideally not crazily priced either?

Previously stayed in looe. Quaint seaside town. Lots of small windy roads. John Fowler holiday park. Great night entertainment and fun for kids in the day

Thinking of a Kinderhotel next summer in Austria or elsewhere, flying from Belfast or Dublin. Or potentially England! DD will be 8 and DS 7.Hubby doesn’t want to hire a car. Anyone know any close to airports or a short taxi ride away. Liked the sport one in Austria, but is 1.5 hrs away. Did hear there is possibly a train?

I grew up near Looe and it is crazy busy in the summer - think major queues to get down into the town and into the (used to be only) car park. I haven't been for a few years though and I think the holiday parks are quite a bit out of Looe proper.

I like West Cornwall - and there isn’t much additional travel time compared with other parts of Cornwall now that the A30 is so much better than it used to be - e.g. St Ives is another 20 minutes or so compared with Newquay. The caravans mentioned above are in Hayle Towans, which has nice beaches but it would be misleading to say that was in St Ives (you can look at it from the other side of the bay). I like staying out of town, in a farm cottage or similar and having the choice of different areas to see, but traffic in August is terrible. If you can go in term time may through July is good. You could stay in St Ives itself which works well with young children as you can pop on and off the beach. We usually use Cottage Boutique to book cottages

Take the ferry from Penzance and goto the Scilly Isles. Amazing Caribbean beaches & crystal clear sea & beautiful walks: Camp sites on 3 of the islands but book early if you want school holidays.

Watergate bay hotel is amazing. Always recommend it where I can. You won't be disappointed!
