Check the rules for where you are busiting.
Yep certain countries (Maldives is one for example) - Europe and the US does not (DS travelled to France, Austria and the US with less than 6 months on his)
Correct.
Any doubts, check fco.gov.UK - anywhere else is hearsay.
Thank you for the replies. Sounds like I've nothing to worry about and shall update dd1 passport when we get back from hols!
yep for eu countries (for now) the identification needs to be valid for the whole trip.
so you are ok.
the 6 month thing is visa requirement for certain countries.
No, not for the EU. Until next march , then who knows?
It is country dependent.
Certain countries, yes. Not EU (yet!)
I think it's only certain countries
Just booking our summer holiday and realised our dd1 passport won’t have the full 6 months validity on it (5 months and 3 weeks) when we go to Spain this August. I have checked the government advise page and they say you only need your passport to be valid for the dates of your travel but I always remember needing to have at least 6 months! Has anyone had problems with having less than 6 months on their passport when travelling to Spain recently? Thank’s in advance.
