Cabin baggage advice please

Hi, i'm hoping you can give me some suggestions. I haven't been abroad since I had my children.

We have just booked our first overseas holiday to Tenerife with the children and we were shocked at the change in baggage allowance.

We have paid to put a 20k suitcase in the hold.

I now need to find suitable cabin baggage for Ryanair, i have been told it cant be bigger than 55x40x20

I need to find 2 bags for the children (girls age 4 and 7) , and 1 maybe 2 for me and OH

I dont want to pay the earth, but i dont want them to fall apart after 1 use

Can anybody recommend suitable bags?

IT brand luggage (at Argos and elsewhere) is Ryanair compatible and one of the/the lightest cabin bags out there. I paid £24.99 a month ago. Very user-friendly.

We have had these Cabin Max ones for several years (at least five) and they have not fallen apart, they are different prices for different colours, so look out for that.

I recently bought one of these for my uncle, which is cheaper, but he only got it for Christmas, so I cannot comment on the quality yet.

We have three cabin max bags and never check in any luggage, even when we go away at Christmas (and that includes santa gifts!!!), they each contain 44litres - my big rucksack that i used to go travelling for three months is only 60 litres.

I normally shove my bag under one of my dds' seats, so i can access it easily, but my legroom is not compromised. I doubt i will get away with this for much longer...

I just bought 4 cheap carry-on wheelie cases from Amazon. They are a brand called '5 cities'. About £15 each!

Bear in mind Ryanair have a 10kg weight limit for cabin bags, & the dimensions include wheels.

According to the telegraph article this cabin max bag is small enough to be your second bag (to go under the seat in front)

I can't tell though if the second bag is included in the 10kg cabin baggage limit. If it is it's not quite so helpful! But if you put all your toiletries & heavy things in the hold bag, & clothes in the cabin bags, you should be ok

Wow lapdance, despite having the exact right size for my carry on luggage for years, it had never occurred to me i could maximise my second bag too - thanks for posting!

Update, I bought 2 cabin bags off the cabin Max website, I slso bought the bag that lapdance suggested as a second bag. This meant that I qualified for a free backpack. Thanks for all your help. X
