Just makes me wonder if any other of her fantastic dresses are hiding in some dusty attic somewhere.

It's going to be kept at Hampton Court - very appropriate, as that palace is also home to the amazing Royal School of Needlework.

The School's first patron was one of Queen Victoria's daughters and it does a lot of restoration of historic textiles as well as new commissions and of course teaching. I once visited them for a research trip and remain in awe of their work.

Bumping this with another piece of gratuitous needlework information.

Someone took me into the Senior Common Room at Magdalen College, Oxford to see the Nobel Prize(s) on the mantelpiece - but it was what was hanging over it that blew me away.

The wedding tapestry of Catherine of Aragon... and Arthur.

Not sure how the college acquired it, but guess it was surplus to royal requirements after 1509.
