Can I return student loan at the last minute?

I am starting a degree in September and I think in May I will need to apply to student finance. There is a possibility that I might have to defer until next year, if that is the case can I return my loans or cancel them before the course start date?

Example
I received confirmation of all student loans in July...

At end of August I decide that I can’t study in September...

I haven’t actually started the course at that stage would it be as simple as cancelling it all until next year?

Thanks

Yes. You don't get any money until the first week of your course. And you have two weeks from the first day to change your mind and not have any loan liability at all.

The money does not come through until after enrolment is completed. You can cancel the application at the last minute.

It’s literally a couple of clicks to cancel it but student finance is open now so please don’t wait till May to apply.
