Reading all these and getting really nervous now for dd! Congrats to all that have had interviews fab news. My dds friend had applied for natural science with cambridge and had a rejection on monday, he also sat the admissions test and like my dd, said it did not go well. But on the bright side he has had an offer from Durham. Has anybody heard about english yet?

Congratulations on all the interview offers. @par05 do you know what college your DDs friend applied to? DS seems calm but I am turning into quivering jelly.

Hi all- well done to all those with interviews so far. This is a nerve wracking process. DS is still waiting to hear. On paper he would be a strong but not exceptional contender. Really hoping he gets an interview. I keep telling him it’s really a bit of a lottery. A good application buys you the ticket, but you don’t know if that ticket is going to win...

Thanks for the new thread and keeping everything crossed for our young people.

Feeling slightly sick now...

Although I read that written tests were only released yesterday so it’ll be a good few days before they decide who is to be interviewed (and who is not...).

Congratulations to Mike on the 5am Oxford offer. May it be the first of many...

5am? I wonder why these admissions officers are working so early?

Hold tight everyone. I’m sure good news is imminent!

I think @mikeandike is based overseas so that would explain the timing.

Well done to your DD @par05. Fingers crossed for all those still waiting, the wait is awful!
Also, yes, we’re based overseas so invite came yesterday afternoon UK time but DD was asleep and didn’t see it till she was on her way to school.

What would you do??

Dd has an interview for another university on the day O said will hold interviews for her subject? She hasn't confirmed the original interview, but she should very soon. But whilst she hasn't heard from O, doesn't know how they'd view a possible clash. (And of course, she mightn't even get that far).

Has anyone had a similar situation?

There were clashes with Oxford and some Birmingham interviews in the year DS1 applied for Medicine. Birmingham re-scheduled without any fuss.

Well done, par05's dd!

Probably honesty is the best policy, Millylovespuddles. I'm sure it's something they've encountered before.

Oxford isn't the one to shift Irma, the other one is. I've only come across Oxford being prepared to reschedule for Music, where there's a clash with a conservatoire.

That's what I meant. Tell the other university.
