Edinburgh - okay, how strict are they typically about Psychology offers?

Looking at sitting October exams.... keeping B and looking for A*A

Offer was AAA

1. Any ideas whether they would accept this, and keep offer open for next autumn? My understanding is that unis are doing this as October exams aren't resits just a clarification of this years grades... BUT A*AB isn't AAA and they could quibble...

2. Any ideas whether traditionally they let people in who've slipped a grade? So for example AAB rather than AAA?

Thanks!

Not specfically on grades (dd exceeded her offer ly) but generally their admissions policy is pretty inflexible. Are there lower entry grades in clearing or only for overseas applicants? Don't be surprised if your dc needs to reapply for 2021.

They aren't known for flexibility I'm afraid. But obviously this year's circs are different and there may be lots of DCs marked down. Best plan is to contact them directly, don't hang about.

Pretty sure they would accept A*AB- it is basically equivalent.

I was accepted to Edinburgh with grades below my offer (not psychology though).

If you are not resitting the B, you need to speak to the admissions tutor, as the computer will say no.

My DD has a BBB offer from Edinburgh 3 years ago. They generally like English students and their £££.
