I've been trying for about 10 days to logon and complete our supporting information.

I've tried weekends, I've tried weekdays, I've tried early morning and I've tried late at night.

I cant get on to the website.

Anyone else having the same problem or is it just me?

DS is having the same problem. Apparently SF did shut the website for a short while due to Covid-19 and is now operating with reduced staff numbers. Would be good if they could extend the date to apply by to reflect the difficulties.

I rang in the end and they did sort it out very quickly. My DH although giving all his info online had a letter to say he had to provide more evidence.

It works using the gov.uk site link www.gov.uk/student-finance-register-login

Ha! just read through the comments on their Facebook page and someone said that if you use a mobile and turn off the wifi (so you are using 4g) it works. I've just clicked the email link and seem to have got straight on to the website that way!!

@daisychicken -maybe suggest your DS try?

I will report back later if I have success....

I've been trying for the 2 hours. The link above does not work - nothing does. I just tried on my mobile too.

I've also been trying and finally managed it this morning. DH still needs to do his. Main problem is our 2018-19 income was pretty healthy but currently our income is zero. With no prospect of change. So if the universities do open in September I have absolutely no idea how on earth we're going to be able to pay for it. Am sure many others are in same boat.

I had problems and like OP I read about using data rather than WiFi. So anyone having problems wither switch off WiFi on your phone and apply using 4g, or if like me you don't like doing it from a small screen, use your phone as a hotspot and you can still use laptop/ whatever. I managed to apply fine this way.

@tinkywinkyshandbag if your income this year is substantially less than the tax year you have given figure for then you need to let SLC know (there is a form I think). They will then reassess for Sept. Lots and lots of people will be needing to do this !

Thanks yes I will do that. Hard to estimate income for the rest of this year though as no idea when will be able to work again...

We have just had an adjustment on DDs 2019-20 (current academic year) payments based on our 2019-20 tax year information if that helps? It was all very straightforward and they will adjust if your current year household income is over than 15% less than the year used for assessment.
