summer job/volunteering

DD hasn't rushed to get supermarket job like some of her friends due to still having to do essays. Now thinking about what do to over the summer as the job she had lined up has obviously fallen through.
She'll fill in the volunteer form, but doesn't drive and we don't have a car, but also thinking about whether to apply for supermarket or whatever else is going - likely to be agricultural given where we are - or should she hang back for those who really need the work?
What are others' DCs doing or planning to do and have they been told when their A level courses are officially over?

A level cours over on 20th March when the schools shut down.

dd talked about applying to a supermarket as her usual workplace shut down, but didn't 'get round to it'. I think she is hoping that her usual workplace might open up in a couple of months and she will be back to normal. If not - well, she can't go out either so at least isn't spending anything.

Dd is on a gap year. Most of the work experience, volunteering and internship schemes have been put on hold or cancelled for this year. Her pt job is proving more difficult as now online and she had hoped to get extra hours to cover those who were taking exams. Another pt job offer is on hold as school based.

Ds who graduated last year has applied for supermarket work but no reply yet. Permanent job applications have largely dried up.

I don't think it will be as easy this year to get short term positions although fruit pickers may be more in demand.
