Just wondering if people think these may be cancelled in April? We were planning to go to At Andrews for their open day on 8th April but now I'm a bit nervous to book flights.

I've seen a few notes on facebook about offer holder days being cancelled so now wondering about open days!

My DD's offer holder day at Clark University was cancelled on Monday.

Lots of uni's in the US are telling students not to return from spring break. DS comes home tomorrow and we're still waiting to hear from his uni about that. I'm driving up there to pick him up so that he doesn't have to sit in a crowded train car for four hours. If they announce that they're going to distance learning only I'd need to go up anyway to haul back all of his stuff.

He's been having a really good semester so this is going to be really sad if he's not going back until September.

We are booked for St A on 8th as well - luckily we are only driving up there and a Premier Inn is cancellable. I would be v surprised if they didn’t cancel it.....

It’s all such a pain isn’t it, in lots of ways.
I think I’ll hold off on booking flights, although noticed that BA are letting you change dates free of charge if necessary so that’s a bit of a help.

@cocopops do you mind me asking where the Premier Inn is? Is it in Dundee? I might book accommodation seeing as it could be cancelled.

We were so looking forward to going ☹️

Miracles will never cease - our uni who has ignored and denied harder than Boris himself - have now caved and cancelled this month's open day.

It is to be hoped that this will push universities into providing meaningful online virtual open days, rather than expecting people to travel all over the country at huge financial and pollution cost.

Exeter are still saying they are going ahead with one next weekend. We’ll see. I have non-refundable train tickets.

Just received an email from LSE to say it is cancelled. I'm gutted as it involved a flight and overnight hotel, none of which is refundable. Told ds we are going anyway!

Gutted pain.

I’ve said to DD we will have a day out in Exeter if we aren’t self quarantined.

Nottingham have cancelled tomorrow's offer holders day - but not until 15:40 this afternoon. So too late to get a refund on the hotel booked.

Liverpool too, so wasted train tickets and AirBNB. They have cancelled all their remaining Offer Holder's days.

@paininthepoinsettia my dd was due to shadow a LSE student on Tuesday. Can you offer me any advice please ?

Kings College London have cancelled next week too. Think we will just lose out on train tickets.

@SunshineCake my advice is to contact LSE and beg ask if there will be an alternative date offered. My guess is that they will not commit to anything yet. When I said we are going any way I meant we are going to London and will have a look around LSE as much as is possible.
