Mental health nursing interview tomorrow!

Hi guys,

I have a phone interview to study mental health nursing tomorrow and the nerves have set in.

I've prepared notes and will have my personal statement and cv at hand.

Does anyone have any tips or any knowledge on what to expect?

Thanks xx

Why you want to do the course?
How will you make the transition to degree course?

Challenges for mh services?

I would read up on mental health conditions and treatment

They asked me what I was reading?!

Good luck!

@Holdingtherope oh god I hope they don't ask me what I'm reading, i have a teething 4 month old so I'm not reading anything at the minute 😖 obviously I won't say that, I don't want them to think I'm not committed

They also asked why I wanted to study at that uni.

Good luck!

Hi, I think it went well!

They asked me four questions:

What qualities do I have that would benefit me as a nurse

What is the role of a mental health nurse

A scenario around a patient in distress becoming incontinent, what would I do

How will I manage my studies, personal life and placement

The interviewer also asked me if I would consider starting in March as they still had places (I'm not sure if this is a good sign??) but I can't due to maternity leave

I came off the phone feeling positive, I really hope I get a place. She said I should head back within a week
