Thanks. I am hoping that a GD professional might tell me which courses are rated; and if there's a specific league table of unis? Ideally, one of those where you can filter by student satisfaction, employability etc.

It does say, I'm in beta and would welcome your feedback, so might not mind being asked what the difference between 'creative arts and design (non specific) (or whatever) and ditto (other) is... But some of the results when I tried were Graphic design courses; I just can't remember which of the two options I chose.

Make sure the course is skills based and has strong links to industry. Good to choose a uni that have courses relating to other media that she can try out, eg user interface design etc. There's a culture on internship in design, if she could get some work experience that helps massively.

Best friend went to Kingston, had an amazing time and went straight into a job as a book cover illustrator at a major publishing company and has now just started at another a few years after.

And she went straight from graduation into a junior designer role at a successful firm in central London. All of her fellow graduates are working in the field bar one x

My dh is a graphic designer and has his own company - graphic design is a over populated job these days - he literally can take graduates on for free just for the experience because they’re 10 a penny and there’s no jobs

I’d honestly reconsider as the industry is on its knees

Know someone whose daughter has just applied for GD through UCAS and her choices were Loughborough, Leeds, Kingston, Nottingham Trent and Reading.

Graphic design was an over populated job 40 years ago. Back then you had to be very good, or lucky, to get anything decent.

It doesn't look like anything has changed.

If interested in GD maybe consider the Typography and Graohic Communication course are Reading University, very well respected and everyone I know who did it when I did got a job straight after uni
