That's all. After 5 years of trying she now has a fulltime course to go to in the autumn. For a disabled student with MH problems I think that's pretty good going. She now feels very glad she didn't get in as a 19yo as she knows she can get much more out of it now.

I won't be living through another drama school audition process ever!!! Grin

(yes, I know, then it'll be a life full of auditions but it's not the same, I won't be involved)

She still has another 5 or 6 auditions to go, but if she doesn't get them she is very happy with what she has got.

Life is stressful atm: work, Brexit, redundancies, ill health- but dd persevered against the odds for 5 years and dd has got into drama school!!! Every other thing that comes up- I can just think of that!!!

[where is the happy little dance emoticon???]

Thank you. Some time in the autumn, not sure when. She still has a while to go on her foundation course (which includes a Camden fringe season) and she will need to work to afford it- but she will work! I know dd, she will work!

Amazing! I love the stories of dc persisting and persisting and reaching their goals. It would have been so easy to give up.StarStarStar

Thanks everybody. It's the 4th Monkey course, so slightly unconventional, but she feels it might be just right for her with its focus on physical theatre- her disability is Ehlers Danlos, so she really needs to work harder on her body than other students. (though she admits she might take RADA if offered.... Wink)

I just looked it up. Looks ace. Meisner technique is great. The artistic director trained at the same place as me!

Ha and I watched the director of training in A Midsummer Night's Dream last week! Co-incidences abound. Grin

Congrats to your DD!! That's fantastic news.

I went to drama school many moons ago and had a great time. It's an intense experience but I'm thick as thieves with my year group and I'm still working in the industry now

In fact my old movement teacher is now at 4th Monkey and she sings it's praises.

She'll have a total blast and well done you for sticking by her. Glitterball

Huge congrats (from the mum of an autistic hyper mobile girl in her first year of professional MT training so I know just how hard the process is)

I’m so glad for you and her.

My DD is at the start of this process as she’s in her first year of auditioning and it’s so great hearing positive success stories
