Offer received through UCAS...now what?

As the title says...I've received the 'Congratulations' offer through track but I'm now at a loss of what to do.

Will I receive a letter from the uni offering me the place?
Or do I call the uni?

I'd like to get an appointment with student services asap to discuss other funding possibilities so I'm feeling really impatient.

Argh!

It just says congratulations your place at ..... uni has been confirmed.

Is this a conditional offer you accepted earlier in the year? If so it means they have confirmed the place. Were you waiting for any results?

No, not waiting for results. I applied late and I think they were checking up on some OU qualifications. Thinking about it now, I assume they decided that what I did with the OU was close enough to their entry requirements.

Yay, well done then! Sounds about right, and possibly unconditional since it says confirmed. If it’s on UCAS track you should be able to log on and reply to the offer .

Some people have had a very confusing email (people still waiting for A level results) I just read in the newspaper:

"....The email, seen by The Times, was not directly connected to Newcastle University or Northumbria University. It was sent by Ucas to promote Fusion Student Housing, a private provider that offers students the opportunity to “live first class” in the city.

The opening line of the message read: “You have been accepted at university and you will be studying at Newcastle next year — congratulations!”

Tom Winetroube, 17, from Bedfordshire, initially thought that the email meant that he had failed to make it into Leeds University to study journalism, his first choice.

“These emails really confused me because not only am I aware that results don’t come out until later in August but Newcastle was my second choice,” he said. “This caused me to feel a bit disappointed because being told that I’d been accepted to my second choice insinuated to me that I hadn’t got into my first choice.

“I think Ucas has caused even more unnecessary distress for students who are already on edge waiting for results that could make or break their plans for the next academic year and beyond.

“I am even more nervous for results day than I was previously as a result of this Ucas error.”

A Ucas spokesman said: “About 4,100 students awaiting their exam results received an email from Ucas which incorrectly said they had been accepted to study in Newcastle. Our mistake was quickly spotted and a follow-up email to apologise was sent that afternoon. All students can log into Track to see the latest information on their application.”

Ucas offers advertising services to private companies. It is thought to have made £12 million a year through these channels in 2013."
