hi i'm hoping someone could give me some advise as you can see i'm new on here but any feedback would be much appreaciated. my daughter will be 19 in oct, she left school june this year after doing A2's, she has been accepted for an HND in college SERC and enrolled on 4 sept 17, my question is will she still be entitled to free dental treatment and eye care or will she be lyable to pay full charges. i thought as a student now starting out she would be entitled to some discounts. thanks in advance.

Iirc dentist and opticians she has to pay ( there are usually vouchers for free eye tests available) but could claim prescription charge exemption on basis of low income ( she needs to apply in advance)

She needs to complete Form HC1 and send it off to apply for an HC2. This will state how much - if anything- she pays towards healthcare costs. She will not automatically get everything free.
You can usually get the form from healthcare providers.

You can also order the form online. Google Healthcare costs.

I think most things are free if in full time education and under 19.
Book an eye test quick!
