Applying for accomodation

DS has applied for accommodation for uni firm choice but its quite possible that he will not get the grades. Should he be applying for accommodation at his insurance too? Does anyone know? Do they do that anyway? or not?

I think each uni has different rules but I doubt you can apply for insurance accommodation in advance of neeeding it. Could cause too much potentially unnecessary work for the uni

My 2 DDs both applied for accommodation at their insurance as well as their firm choice. It does depend on the university.
