University admissions help!

I have a question. My DD got the A level grades expected 2 years ago, got offers from all 5 universities she applied to. Took a gap year (travel and work). Went to her top choice, after a week decided she'd made a mistake and should have gone to her insurance choice (city more akin to home plus friends there). Too late that year so applied to transfer into 2nd year. Course head was encouraging. BUT after 7 months and numerous contact has been told transfer into 2nd year not possible (valid reason module match not right). So she has applied to start 1st year again at this new university. There are places on the course and we are just waiting to hear. This is SO stressful. Would the fact that she turned down the offer last year be held against her, likewise the fact that she has already spent a year at another university (the actual course is fine and she has done really well). She has jumped the gun and signed up for a flat share in the new city argh!

Shame about the modules not being the same. Could she look at other universities who have done similar modules? (I know this isn't what she'd prefer, but maybe a way to continue onto the second year if she can find a university she prefers to the first one.)

But hopefully she'll get her place on the one she's applied to.

she won't get finance, though, will she?

Thank you both for your replies. I'm sitting here on a beautiful day - stewing over this!
That particular city i.e. having friends there is the pull. She hasn't considered somewhere else.
I believe she is able to get loans for up to 4 years. Quite what will happen if she takes a sandwich year ? Cross that bridge etc

If there are still places (have they said this? Extra isn't that reliable...) then she will almost certainly be made an offer.

Finance-wise again she'll be fine. You're entitled to one extra year regardless of the length of course.
So on a three year course the entitlement is four years, on a five year course the entitlement is six years.

I don't think you have much option but to wait and see then. If it's a no, then she'll have to address it then and find an alternative route. There will be an alternative route.

My ds did two yeas at a uni including a foundation year, decided he hated it there, has had a year at home contemplating his future, decided he wants to continue his degree at a different uni, has applied to 5 through UCAS, and has been accepted by the two with similar first year modules to his original uni. So he's going off in September to new uni, onto the second year, at a great university, happy as Larry.

He's only just heard from the final one of the 5, so could be she just hasn't heard yet.
