.......has just got a 2i, in a proper subject, from a Russell group uni (I know, I know).Grin

I may have to make a banner or something and put it up outside our house.

Thank the Lord for foundation years.

That is brilliant - you must be delighted.

Take note parents struggling with that teenager now - sometimes they come good!

That's great. It gives me hope for the future that my lazy school refusing year 9 may get some qualifications one day.

It is a massive relief. I have been stressed about him for....well it seems like forever really.

He has now decided to come and work for our family business, so going off to do a masters first, more for the useful knowledge and skills rather than the qualification.

So just three more kids left for me to worry about.Wink

Wonderful news Tinkly. Gives me hope for my clever but lazy DS who has just flunked his end of YR1 Uni exams because he still hasn't learnt the lesson that you actually need to revise for exams just when I thought he had learned that lesson after he didn't get the AS level results he had hoped for

Great news Tinkly. Like bigbluebus, I am in possession of a DS who has just failed Yr1.

Your post gives me hope Wink

That's brilliant news and I'm not surprised you are so pleased. Its great when it all comes together. We looked at foundation years for maths/science (RG Unis) and were repeatedly told that the outcomes for students who managed to complete them successfully was often excellent.

Hi Op don't suppose you are still around? I'm at a loss/suffering greatly as the mum with a bone idle DS who I fear will not get the grades for uni. Can I ask how did he get a place at such a uni? Was it through clearing? How bad grades are we talking? i need hope to hang onto!

I think as OP said he went to Uni via Foundation year.
She never said whether he was mature student or not.
