Hi there,
I just wanted some advice really. My Dd has chosen her firm
And insurance choice a whole
Back but has now decided she has chosen the wrong uni for firm, she wished she picked her insurance as her firm. What do we do? She
May not get the grades for her firm choice anyway and get an offer at her insurance, that would be great! But if she does get the grades does she definitely have to go to her firm? Can we change our minds now? Btw she does think her firm offer is quite far away, her insurance choice is quite a bit closer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated ladies and gents!

From what I remember she can reject her firm offer if she gets it as long as she has her insurance. If she rejects firm and doesn't get into insurance then she'll have to go through clearing.
Can you contact UCAS and ask if she can swap them round? This must happen a lot surely?

Get her to call her preferred choice university admin office. I'm sure it'll be okay to swap as the insurance place is hers anyway.

Last year, My DS was offered a place at his insurance after results were out and he ummed and ahhed as to which uni he preferred. He went to firm in the end but he could have accepted insurance - they usually post an offer letter on UCAS on results day.

Good Idea to call insurance dept. though.

Thanks ladies. She had just emailed her insurance to get some advice. Let's hope they can sort something! X

This is the advice from The Student Room which suggests it is doable but has to be with the agreement of the universities concerned.
