Realistic Revision Timetable for Year 13

DS does work hard but lately seems to have gone off,the boil with his A level revision.

Does anyone know roughly how much time should be spent in a day revising?

He's doing Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Further Maths.

He has said that he feels under pressure so I don't want to make this worse, I just want him to maximise his potential. He needs high grades for the course he wants too.

TIA

This is impossible to answer as kids are so different. It also depends a lot on the school they attend.

My DCs all got roughly similar grades to each other and studied similar subjects to your son but ranged from one who studied almost every waking moment at this stage of year 13 to another that never seemed to do anything. Confused. The other two were more of a happy middle ground.

Sorry, I know that's not very helpful.

DS just told me he's revising for 4 hours a day.

Hope that's enough!

Hopefully, it's four hours constructive revision rather than four hours of wishy-washy revision while watching YouTube and texting friends.

Hope it all works out. Smile

Has he got a plan or is he just revising randomly for 4 hours a day?

You'll be more clear if it's enough if he can show you a timetable with his exams clearly marked and everything mapped out. Is he revising enough of each module, keeping the stuff that he learned before Christmas on the boil while mastering the new material? Has he got all the past papers available planned in so he'll have done them all by the exam? Is he keeping a list of topics he needs to work on and ticking them off as he tackles them?

Eek noble I'm off to interrogate him with those questions!

Oo-er, he wasn't impressed with my questioning him. He said he's got it all in his head.

He explained what he meant......he's done a Chemistry mock today, marked it and went over any gaps. Then he revised D1 module in Maths and Unit 1 and 2 in Chemistry.

........all Greek to me!

Ds seems to be revising the cricket on the television... He too gets very shirty when I question him about what he's up to.
