Has anyone got any information about Saturday schools. I saw one in the papers called Excel in key subjects

Did you mean to post this in higher education?

Saturday catch up classes are not of inheren benefit to a ucas application, but if grades are improved as a result of going to classes, that will be of benefit.

If your DC feels that s/he is falling behind in a subject, the first and cheapest place to start should be asking the relevant teacher if there are lunchtime / after school 'clinics'. Some schools even run Saturday ones.
