Just starting to look for courses with my DS who is in first year of 2 year BTec extended diploma in music tech and talking about wanting to go on to Uni. He really is most interested in live sound rather than just studio recording - has anyone got any helpful tips about courses ? DD doing traditional languages at Russell Group Uni so feel my experience from helping her isn't very relevant this time around. Was looking at the courses at Coventry , DeMontfort, Central Lancashire and he is interested in BIMM which is a complete unknown to me and doesn't have halls so would involve finding private accommodation in Manchester. Any help gratefully received !

It's quite well known for media production. A good few of my husband's BBC sound engineer friends trained there.

Will ask him when he gets home. Manchester does have media city on its doorstep doesn't it.

Thanks for your comments. Maestro he plays drums - approx grade 6 standard now so possibly 7/8 by the time he was to go.

I had several friends at uni who were doing music technology and the course is apparently very good. One friend had pretty much all the best music courses available to him including some abroad and chose this one. This is the course at university of Huddersfield, which I can say is a brilliant uni!
