My niece is currently in tears and in a state of panic. She's come home today, after her holiday to find several emails asking her to confirm she wants accomodation in halls for her 1st year but she's missed the deadline. The office is closed until tomorrow but I wondered if anyone else has been in the same boat or knows if she is likely to get a place.
Any advice or experiences will be much appreciated TIA

try not to worry - a couple of years back Aber had way too many first years for the number of rooms available and ended up creating bunk rooms. They were extremely cheap, I think it worked out at less than £50 a week after the residential bursary was taken into account (£800 that year though only £400 this year) I'm sure the uni would put your dn in a bunk room if there wasn't anywhere else

I see on the uni's facebook accommodation page here they are still taking applications for returning students for places in hall so that would indicate they have a surplus and I'm pretty sure first years get prioirity

Tell your niece to give the office a call they are a friendly bunch there and I'm sure she will get sorted. 01970 622984

Its a really lovely place and the lecturers are really friendly. ds had a place there, took a gap year but then decided he wanted the big city instead.

Hi eatyourveg - thought he was off to Aber but all change. Off to London - very different. Hope he has a great time.

mumnosbest DS is there - sure there won't be so much pressure on accommodation this year as entered clearing which they didn't when DS went. Would expect a bunk room is likely at this stage though, but you never know. Good luck to her. It's a really friendly, laid back place, just wish it was easier to get to!

I went to Aber some years ago now and the accomodation service were always fantastic. I'm sure if she calls tomorrow they'll be able to sort something out
