part time PGCE funding

Hi All, I am starting a PGCE in September part-time. I know I am not entitled to student loan (thanks tories!) but I am entitled to a tuition fee loan. Does anybody know about entitlements to grants? I am a single parent and need childcare paid for.

Thanks!

If you use the calculator on the Student Loan website, you need to choose the Undergrad option rather than Post-grad. For some reason PGCE is treated like an undergrad course for finance.

I did my PGCE this year. I got a loan for fees, a loan for maintenance and a small maintenace grant too. I've got a DH who is earning and two DCs.

Your uni may be able to advise further and there is also the excellent TES forum too.

Good luck! Smile

Hi Spannerchops30, hope your course is going well? I was wondering if you got a grant/loan in the end? I'm trying to work out if pgce will be poss for me! X
