AS grade boundaries

Does anyone know where I can find OCR and AQA grade boundaries? DD1 got a c in her eng lit yesterday and would really like to find out how far she was off the predicted b, which will help us to decide what to do about it. She got an a at gcse.

I've noticed a few comments about trusting that they will be able to bring a grade up by next summer through hard work, but I'm wondering how realistic that is, or are resits the better option. Many thanks

You need her UMS marks

OCR grade boundaries here

it is very common for students to improve on their grades in the second year. The best option though is for a discussion with her teachers as to what she should do re resits etc as they are in the best position to offer advice

It usually works out that 90% is A*, 90% A, 80% B etc.

This is of UMS marks, and not raw. The certificates should show the UMS marks, so you can tell how close you are to the grade boundary.

What is not published at this stage is how the raw marks relate to UMS, as this changes with each cohort.

Ah thankyou. After staring at this for ages I think I now understand and it looks like she was 4 marks off the b grade. We will contact the school on Monday, I think they will be busy with the year 13 fallout at the moment.

Its our first year for this so another question if I may. In biology she messed up the ISA (practical) earlier in the year which has scewed her final result. This is the subject she will now have to drop, but is it worth redoing that ISA to get a better as result. Will it count towards anything if it is not taken to A2?

Yes, it is probably worth redoing the ISA. If she is just a few marks off the next grade, this is a more certain place to make up the marks. It is hard to resit exam modules and improve marks without tuition, but an ISA just requires a couple of weeks of focus.
