Highchairs and baby seats

Can anyone recommend a good high chair?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking around for a decent high chair but I'm struggling. I need one that can accommodate a baby that can't sit up on their own yet, and one with adjustable height.

Has anyone got any positive experiences? Cost is not a big issue but ideally it won't be super expensive.

Thank you

have a look at the infantino grow with me highchair. It can be adjusted from a highchair, to a booster seat when your dc gets older.

all the best

Ikea all the way. Cheap, easy to clean, travels and stores well as the legs detach. Best by far.

Ifeel- I had a look at that but it's only for babies that can sit unaided unfortunately

Second the Ikea one, we got the accompanying cushion to help when DS was a bit wobbly still. You’ll regret getting anything that’s harder to clean!

Third on the IKEA one. It's the best out there as it's so easy to clean!

Unless there is a specific developmental delay, wait until your baby can sit unaided to give solids, and get the ikea antilop

I'd also recommend the IKEA one with the padded insert. The insert is essential if you have a baby that can't sit unaided (my twins couldn't until 8/9 months reliably).

Definitely the ikea one with cushion for support but babies shouldn't use high chairs until they can sit in them.

I would also agree with the Ikea one, as long as you get the inflatable cushion insert. DS was in his for short periods from 4 months, he had/has reflux and had to be upright 24/7 and the chair helped with this - it is really supportive once you inflate the cushion fully.

The only issues I've had with the Antilop is it takes up quite a lot of floorspace because it gets its stability from a wide "footprint", and its buckles can give you a nasty pinch. Not a problem if you have space and always remember to be careful with the buckle, but depending on your setup you might want to look at compact ones too.

I got a Stokke Tripp Trapp second hand and it is great - can be pushed under the table, and had a newborn attachment for the early days. It's very expensive new though (especially with all the extras - harness, tray, 'babyset", cushions!)

Tripp Trapp with newborn insert. Ticks all the boxes you want and will last long into childhood, so cost across lifetime isn't bad.

I've used the Ikea one at DM's and they are great for all the reasons pp said, but aren't as flexible and the legs stick out bloody miles.

The legs on the antilop stick out about 57cm (from the outside edge of the feet)

I'll bear that in mind thanks, we are limited on floor space so would prefer something with a smaller footprint

Can’t go wrong with Tripp Tripp if you have the money and are low on floor space. It also seems great for posture/alignment.

I loved my oxo highchair. Very stable, small foot print, grew with the baby.
