Work

I (Roisin) just got a job

I'm working as a 'learning supervisor' = Teaching Assistant plus extra responsibilities, including class cover when trained in a local secondary school (which is 5 mins walk from my house!)

PS Thanks to Fisil whose comments on this old thread about enthusiasm definitely contributed to my success.

Well done! You'll be a great asset, I know.

(Didn't you already have a job, a part time one? Am I imagining things? Have I done the unforgiveable & Mixed You Up with Another Mumsnetter?)

Thanks for all the congrats.

I've got this huge grin on my face! Start 13 June, which is great, gives me chance hopefully to get to grips with the job a bit before September.

Binkie - yes, you are right. I do/did have a job - just part time secretarial/admin. But it's not really what I want to do, and my boss moved the office so it's quite inconvenient, and I really wanted more hours, more pay, etc.

Only just seen this. Congratulations! I knew you'd end up in a school somehow. They are very lucky to be getting someone as committed to education as you.

Well done (buy a new book to celebrate).

Thanks Yoyo (and everyone else). A lot of people have said the same to me (even in RL), so I'm going to hang on to that to give me confidence, especially in the first few months, which I'm sure will be very tough.
