I think I would like to work 9.30-2.30 and have school holidays off while kids are at primary school.

Those are my dream working hours too, mummyclare AND I GET TO DO THEM! smile

I work whenever I want to during school hours (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 9 - 4.15). I am very lucky in that I arrange all my meetings and can pretty much decide when they are to be.

I have close to mine. 35 hours a week but flexibly as I see fit, so say 9-3 some days and 8-6 others. With DP working similarly.

I don't want to do 10 school runs a week I'm very happy to share that with DP and other people too. A few school runs a week is plenty for me.

BUT don't ask me about the implications for career progression... that's where the nice working hours fall down rather.

Sounds ideal to me

I already have by dream hours.

8.30am to 2.30pm.

33 days annual leave with massive flexibility for when they are taken.

What do you do Anna and scatty?

scattyspice Thu 25-Sep-08 13:05:14

I'm a physio on a stroke ward. I too stepped down a grade to get the hours (well worth it though).
When DCs were babies I was less happy as needed to work 5 short days (rather than 3), but its ideal now DCs at school.
I was very lucky as the managers were trying to cut back (huge overspend) at the time DS started school so agreed to the term time contract to save cash!

I work in business education - I write materials for business seminars and I supervise/tutor MBA dissertations.
