what school hours, term time only, jobs do people have ? I am just being nosey...

..my DD is now at school and severalof her friend's mums are talking about going back to work - two at least of whom only want to work during the school day.
I was just wondering what is out there.

I work in a support/admin-type role at a University. Not school hours but University term time only. No half-terms but have Christmas, Easter and summer hols off, which helps. Out of school childcare consists of a combination of nursery, after school club and my mum.

School office. One full day and 2 or 3 half days depending on workload. Tis fab and very flexible.

My Mum works termtime for a local college doing the EMA admin (despite her youngest being 30 now, lol)

From October, when DD starts fulltime, I shall carry on working three evenings a week, but do 'overtime' during the day as and when. As it's not contracted hours, I can just not do it during the holidays

IB i dont anymore, I did before I went self employed. Seemed a bit daft to be working all morning for the same amount that I could earn sitting at home selling tat.

I am a teacher. I have to say its not a school hours job though the holidays are great! I'm lucky I only work 1.5 days a week.

Hi,
I run my own website from home for stallholders, events and fundraising.
I try and work when the children are at school and in bed but it's very busy at the moment so I'm doing a lot more than I intended when I set it up! It's great being my own boss though and I don't need childcare.

I work for a local council, jobshare 18.5 hours a week. I do three days 8-2 in termtime, so DH drops off and I do pick up. In the holidays I do my hours over two long days to reduce the amount of childcare we need.

pagwatch look in your local council jobs/employment pages online. The jobs available are often related to schools and term time school hours only.

This will give you an idea of what is out there, secondary school library assistant, admin assistant, teaching assistant, dinner lady - although some often work parts of the holidays in the kitchens.

Civil servant. I'm current on three 7.5 hour days a week, in September I go to five (boo!) 6 hour days a week, term-time only.

Receptionist, so I work shifts(33 hrs a week)and my Husband is a Postie, so one of us can be with the children 95% of the time, the rest of the time either Grandparents or if we're really stuck they come in with me for an hour or so but thats very rare.
