Where to go for careers advice?

I've got a few teaching qualifications (sec, primary and dyslexia) as well as my oh so useful music degree, and I'd love some careers advice that would be appropriate - even though I'm nearly 44 I'm keen to get back to work, ideally not in straightforward education. Where can I go for advice?? Any ideas?

If you fancied running a cooking club for little people I am looking for people to take up licences!

Alternatively, how about private tuition, I hear there is a huge demand for it!

Go to you local jobcentre.they will hold information of careers centres in your area

I do some private tuition - problem is, it's only really possible to do it after school hours and weekends. I have 4 children so not ideal. I'll try the job centre thanks.

What you need to do is get in touch with your local 'nextstep'. They are what used to be careers centres for adults. The service differs in each area of the country. However, most have freephones and all have advisers able to offer some level of service.

So put nextstep and your county into google and it should bring something up.

Also, have a look at learndirect online. They are govt funded and have a phone careers advice service which might prove a good starting point.
