DS will be fine, it will be different but he wil be fine I am sure (not that Iknow your childcare arrangments but still...

Hope you really enjoy your first day, make sure you have something you will really enjoy doing/listening to on the way in, and at lunchtime, to keep you occupied and not worrying about DS

I started back a few weeks ago after 1 year and it really is fine once you're there. It'll be like you've never left and you'll get to have a hot cuppa tea. I was worried about leaving DD but she settled into nursery brilliantly and I think it's been a really good move for her too. She's loving it and has really grown in confidence. Good luck

I'm assuming he's 5.

He'll be proud of you!

i'd not worked in paid employment for almost 3 years and last week I swanned back into a classroom (i'm a teacher) and INSTANTLY felt right at home and like i'd never left (and it was a new school and not "my" subject). You'll be fine.

Ds (4.5) was pretty unsure about the notion of mummy working but I drip fed the idea by talking incessantly about all the jobs his wee friends mummies have but how they love being a mummy best. He loved drawing me a wee picture that I put in my bag so everytime I saw it I'd think of him!

I'm sure you'll both be fine.

Is your bag packed?!

Well, first day done...I am so tired and ds currently having a tantrum which I have left dh to cope with

I am a medical support secretary in the rehab/cancer care unit of a big hospital. Its only 15 hours a week, but its a big change.

Ds starts school in January so really wanted to have something in place by then (and I am studying part time for a degree with the OU too - must be mad!)

Thank you for your messsages of support
