Return to work

I was asked by my manager to return to work after 4 months during my maternity in which I was not ready to do so but they mentioned if I decide not to go back I will lose my job , left in a position to make a quick decision and under a lot of pressure-- I have since been working from home for a 5 weeks now and it's overwhelming and a lot of demand and looking after baby at the same time is a lot

I was advised to write a grievance letter to HR ,expressing how I am coping.

Any advice on this?

Were you entitled to longer in your contract or by statutory law? If so, what did they say when you told them that? What kind of company is it? Small with no HR, or big with HR?

@DianaT1969 hi , I am entitled to full maternity leave by contract and by statutory law. It's a big company with HR. I was under so Much pressure I never even questioned anything and was just confused with everything.
