Time for a change in career?

Hey,
So I'm returning to work in a week after being on mat leave with my first born for 10 months. I have a 9-5 desk job and really dreading being away from my LO Confused. I've not been happy in my job for a few years so that in itself makes it hard to face going back after a long period away. I've been speaking to other parents, friends and family as I'm interested in a change in career/job. Currently I'm an Internal Communications Manager, it's a great job but sadly not in the right company and requires full time office hours. In an ideal world I'd love something that's flexible, can offer home working, allows you to be creative and interact with people and is rewarding. I'm up for training/education (but would need to be part time/distance learning). I was wondering if any other mums or dads have done this or if anyone has any suggestions or examples?

I had the same problem and for me found the only solution to have true flexibility was to become self employed - I've got 3 girls and there is always something I need to be going to at school, an appointment for one of them or someone is poorly so would find myself needing to ask for time off every week! I'd say the most important thing is to find something you enjoy so it makes anytime away from lo bearable!
