Phased return - what happens re pay?

Can anyone advise on this? I honestly hadn't given it a thought til now. SSP will finish third week of September; the situation causing my stress has almost been resolved but my MH isn't 100% yet so I was going to start a phased return on 24 September. Then it finally occurred to my muddled brain whether I would be paid pro-rata during my phased return (which I can't afford so will prob end up going back sooner than I should, MH-wise).

It depends on your employers policy. They have no obligation to pay you for hours you don’t work as part of a phrtw. I’ve worked places that will make you up to a full wage, offer sick pay for the unworked hours, or agree to let you take holiday. You really need to speak to them to understand their position on it. There isn’t a universal answer.

I've worked in two organisations that do this differently.

  1. Pays for what you work. You could book holiday days on the non working days to top up pay though.

  1. Allows a period of 4 weeks paid phased return, paying normal contracted hours regardless of what you actually work.

Ask your employer.
