Should I ring back and tell them I can't work??

So I've just made a mistake.
My boss rang me to tell me my induction days.
They are : 30th and 31st January and 6th and 9th February.
There is absolutely no problem with the 31st January and 9th February.
But, I've just realised 6th and 30th are days I have lectures.
I am a student nurse, I have decided I am definitely not working the 6th. I will tell them that as soon as. The issue is the 30th, I already pushed it back a day.
The lecture is all day. I could miss it once. But not more than that.
If you were my new boss would you sack me ?
It's care work. I'm not on the rota yet.

I wouldn't sack you but I'd appreciate as much notice as possible and certainly before I sorted the rotas.
Ring him back or email him saying you can't do those dates but have with you ready alternative dates when you can.

Ive emailed and done a voice mail. Gave a list of seven alternative dates and apologised.
They haven't replied yet, do I ring tomorrow (did yday but managers don't work weekends)
Thanks x

Give them a chance to reply to your email tomorrow, no probably in over weekend.
Try not to worry, I'm sure they will be really understanding.
If you don't hear anything by midday Tuesday, try again saying "just checking you received my message. When would be a convenient alternative date? I'm so looking forward to working with you"
It'll be fine smile
