I have a second interview this week for a job I really fancy, Production Coordinator in a manufacturing company, but it is managing a team of 5 which I've never done before. I am quite an introvert -practically skilled, quite confident and outspoken, but find a lot of time with people quite tiring - and this aspect of the job is quite intimidating. Is it possible for a an introvert to manage a team?
Yes you don’t have to be an extrovert to manage a team and if you are managing a team of introverts then introversion is a bonus (which is not to say extroverts make bad managers either). Listening is a more important skill than talking when managing people and you can be assertive without being loud.
