Working 1 day a week vs SAHM?

My maternity leave ends soon and I have been offered what I wanted of 1 day per week (I was full time before) If I go back it will make us comfortable where as if I don't we will still get by so it's up to me really according to OH. What do you think?

If it's what you want, go for it- why wouldn't you? My only concern would be that one day a week seems so little that it might be difficult to feel fully part of the workforce (sometimes part timers in my place say that, and we don't have anyone on less than 2.5 days) and I'd also worry that my baby might not settle in childcare just once a week; they might need more frequent sessions. But if you can find a way around those things it seems a no brainer

It'll keep your work experience relevant and up to date, and you won't have that struggle to get back into the workforce, go for it.

It sounds great. As Babbity said you might struggle to feel as part of the team as you used to but if you can accept that then go for it.
It's so hard to get back in to work after being a SAHM.

What sort of job is it? I work 2 days per week as a nurse and it's very difficult to keep up to date with everything and feel fully confident and involved. I would love to work 1 day a week and have considered it but I think it depends on the nature of the job

Take it, it is very, very hard to get back into the job market once you have left - I speak from personal experience - loved my 12 years as a SAHM but very tough to get back into work.
