Would you consider a job split with someone you don't know?

Hi!

Would you consider a job split with someone you don't know?

There are lots of full time jobs available that I know I could do, but I cannot commit to a full time position because of childcare.

I have been given the opportunity to apply for a full time position with someone I have never met, splitting the days in half. Just wondered if anyone else had experience of job sharing before?

Thank you all.
Nx

My part time posts working for the LA were generally job shares. I didn't know the person who worked the other half of my job until I started working there.

I job share. The only thing I find hard is that we both want school holidays. Other than that it works ok. I didn't know my job share until I started.

I job share and don't know the other person. We each have our own work so no need to leave messages etc and neither of us has happened to come in when the others off so haven't met in over a year. Other people at work tell me she's nice!

Id imagine the majority of people wouldnt know the person they do a job share with since the company interviews for both roles and you dont get to choose someone.

I did a job share it was fine. We both did different tasks of the role but obviously both dealt with the immediate important things that were needed to be done daily.

Surely easier to state clearly how you both expect things to work out when you aren't worrying about affecting a friendship?
That can blossom while you adapt to your new roles!!

Great thanks all. Can I also ask how you found looking for job share positions? Where there many options or did you keep seeing a lot more Full time positions?
