Should I tell them I'm a mother?

I am looking for some quick general advice...

I am desperate to get back into work after an 8 year gap, reason for this is I had my first child 8 years ago and my kids are both now in full time school.

So, should I mention in my CV that I'm a mother? I can see the pro's and cons...it shows what I've been doing for the past 8 years but it could also show that I have other commitments and might need more time off that a person with no kids.

What should I do?

I wouold definitley say you are a mother. Any sensible employer will want an explanation for the 8 year gap in employment history and aslo will understand that now the children are in school you will be more commited in a lot of ways.

You can also use it positively to evidence certain skill sets - you have to be super organised for example to get two kids up, dressed and off to school, you have used yuor coaching skills to hlep the kids with homework, and maybe you can use an example of networkig skills for getting on with parents in the playground or anything else you hahv done

Best of luck for the job hunting

I wouldnt put it on the CV, I would put it on the covering letter. Personally.
