Hi ladies, I am hoping that some of you may be able to help me.

I have been a stay at home mum for the past 5 years, both children are now in full time school. I have been looking at returning to work, I am really wanting to do something around the school hours/holidays. I have had two interviews for School Administrator, but have been unsuccessful both times (at different schools). I have another interview for a School Administrator next week and would really appreciate any help you could offer in terms of what questions they may ask me and how I should respond. I don't seem to have any issues when I'm talking about my career history (I have over 15 years experience as a PA/Office Manager) however I seem to struggle on questions that they ask relating to specific school topics such as 'how would you deal with an angry parent'. Any help would be appreciated if you have experience of working in a school that you think would be beneficial to me!
thanks

Does it help to think of dealing with an angry parent as being an angry customer? It's a customer service type question. Parents want to be heard and to be listened to, and if they're complaining about something that's happened at the school, they're likely to be quite emotional about it. A bit like if you worked in payroll and somebody's salary had got messed up. Hopefully somebody along soon with specific school experience.
