Got a bad feeling about doing this job

Has anyone accepted a job and then afterwards thought you have made a mistake?

I start back at work on Monday after nearly 9 years, and, admit it's not what i want to do really, but it is a job.

I felt uneasy as I walked tbrough the door, but one of the ladies was really friendly, and then tbe people who interviewed me were equally as nice, but I cant seem to shake this bad feeling, I've been snappy, weepy and generally low since I accepted the job

I know it's going to be hard, i'll be working 8.30-1.30 mon-fri and know for a fact that when dh is on his days off he will do no housework whatsoever.

Do you think it is just nerves

yes, agree, give it a few weeks then you will know whether or not its the place for you. If you are still not comfortable after a month then hand in your notice. Life is too short I have come to realise.

what job is it Radley? Is it something you have done before or is it something totally new?

I think it's just nerves, I'd feel the same.

You'll love it once you've been there for a bit i bet.

Poppiesinaline, its something totally new, I'm working as a cook in a private nursery. I've never worked as a cook before.

Also, all my previous jobs were in a male orientated environment, I tend to find I get on better with men than women, and, as there are no males, that's another thing daunting me.

i do see what you mean, all women places can be scary

i think, like everyone has said, give it time and if you don't like it, quit

Good for you trying something new Radley. Give it a go, you never know, you may like it. If not, nothings lost, just say 'it didnt work for me' and move on.

Radley I seen your other thread asking about working in a nursery but was half asleep....

I worked in a nursery and my cousin also worked there, he was the cook!!

What did you want ask, if anything?? You will be fine.
