I am just about to start a course to become an adult literacy tutor- this is a 10 week course initially . It is run through our local council and there are a lot more students on the course than there will be vacancies for. The work is volantary but apparently there is some scope for paid employment.
I am quite happy to work on a volantary basis for a while as I am really interested in doing the job and see this as part of the training process.
However I am starting to worry that there are hardly any paid jobs in this, the council does not advertise them so optimistically I am presuming they go internally. Anyone work in this field and could enlighten me as to the employment prospects ?
