Yeah pretty much. A recruiter once told me not to put anything on a cv that might put someone off you. If you like skydiving it sounds exciting but you may break a leg and be off sick etc. If you read you may be perceived as boring etc. You never know what stupid hangups employers might have against magicians.

I'd only put them on if relevant. So if you're applying for a job working with kids, saying you're a member of something like scouts would be OK.

Mind you, I just had an interview where I was asked what book I was reading, what sport I competed in and what my last result was, what radio station I listened to, what tv programmes I watched, etc. etc. I didn't get a second interview. Just as well as they sound like a bunch of weirdos!

I have two lines at the bottom of my CV saying that I enjoy travel (sort of relevant but not really) and theatre. I think it gives an interviewer a useful snapshot of who you are. My dad was a very high level executive and always included that he enjoyed travel and golf on his CV.

I put "running and travel". That's it.

I have had people ask me to elaborate. I've also had people ignore it and ask what bars I like to go out to at the weekend
