Please help.
Don't know what to do about work atm. Was made redundant from teaching job in July and a now working ona part time temporary contract definitley until Easter, probabbly until Summer. Am feeling totally fed up with teaching and resent having to spend my Saturday night and most evenings working. Really want 2nd baby as feeling that I'm not getting any younger. But don't know what to do, as I assume I wouldn't be entitled to SMP if I have come to the end of a contract and canot find a nother job. Thought of supply teaching terrifies me as have lost alot of confidence since redundancy.

Am considering alternative job, but don't know what to do and want it to be part-time so I can be with ds at home. Really need some pay as would be very, very tight financially with total loss of my earnings.

Any suggestions? Really beginning to feel I don't know what to do as feel very miserable about worklife atm.

can you contact citizenz advice bureau in your local area? they might be able to help point you in the right direction. or even your local jobcentre. you wouldn't be totally without money as you can apply for maternity allowance if your earnings aren't above a certain level (the cab will be able to advise you on this). good luck x

Have you thought about setting up a jolly babies type music group? One has recently closed near us and there are so many of us who would go to a class if there was one. The lady who used to run it charged three pounds an hour and had ten babies in the jolly baby class, which was a sort of sing along class (3/4hour) and the same in music with mummy which was for over ones. She had five classes a week and after registration costs must have made about 500 quid a month. I think its a national thing. If you advertised youd prob get alot of interest, depending on where you are i suppose. just an idea!!!

what about becoming a accredited childminder.
you have the experience and can care for your children too without the expense of nurseries.
Why not get paid to play, i do and its the best thing i have done.
Join a network though as it can be tough starting up on your own without a mentor.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

tutoring? My ex husband had about 30 pupils outside of his school job. He could do that from home or in other people's homes.

Take a look at my advert in the Jobs section titled "work from home selling childrens books"

Thanks for the ideas. And am thinking of other options. The childminding is something I have thought about a few times, but I remember when we bought ourr house that in the deeds it said that you couldn't use the property as a place of business-does anyone know the legal implications of this?

How musical do you have to be to do jolly babies? Beacuse while I will happily sing to my class & ds, I know my singing voice is hardly Leona from X factor

I seem to remember it's businesses that could cause a nuisance to neighbours i can hardly believe that well behaved children under proper control can cause a nuisance.
Now if you were spraying up cars and selling them on your drive/you run a haulage company with the lorry's outside at night then that would be a problem.
check with your local cab im sure you'd be ok.
