Maternity Leave Question!!!

So at the moment I am on mat leave from my office admin job (Jan 2016 till at least Nov 2016) I want to apply for a job as a health care assistant on a bank basis (will want to work possible a shift a week or a fortnight) this will help top me up when my maternity pay goes down... what I want to know is... is it ok to apply for and work another second job (as a health care assistant on bank basis) whilst receiving maternity pay, will it effect my maternity pay? and what about when my maternity pay is £0, will it be ok to apply for and work a second job then?

Any help/advice would be appreciated :)

Looks like it depends on whether you will be self employed or not. If not then maternity pay will end.

Also depends on your contract as to whether you can work elsewhere
