Can any teachers out there clue me in on how much dropping a day would cost me in real money after tax?

I'm secondary UPS3 with a 2a TLR (lowest of the low lol)

I'm a bit out of the loop now, but I know when I went down to 3 days I was pleasantly surprised at the proportion I kept (having initially presumed I'd earn 3/5 of money for 3/5 of a week). Since then the personal allowance has increased significantly, so even better. smile

I've got no tlr but take home 1400 for three days. Reckon on getting nearly 500 per month per day worked iyswim!

I would be interested to find out too. Desperate to get some sort of work life balance and to stop using up one day of each weekend working.

Take home pay is £1937 in exactly those circs-I'm on first rung of ups 3, with minimum tlr, working four days a week.

I work one full day and one morning. I usually take home about £750

no tlr though

I work one day per week with extra supply/INSET days here and there. As it happens though we don't think I'm actually any better off for any of the extra days as our tax credits reduce in line with what I earn.

Having written that down, I'm not sure why I bother with the extra days... confused

I am ups2 with tlr 2b and lose about 350 a month by dropping to 4 days
