Work

SMP and working

Please solve this arguement!
A friend has two jobs. 1 she is eligible for SMP for.
She is on maternity leave from the SMP job. She has started working again for the other job (that she doesn't receive SMP for) and I have said that she can't keep on receiving SMP. She disagrees and says that she can work and receive the SMP.

Who is correct?

I think she is correct, but she can't start working the SMP job without giving up the SMP.

Gosh. I thought the SMP was to cover you whilst you had reduced/no earnings.
Working and still receiving it seems crazy, like free money just for having a baby Confused

More than one employer
If you have more than one employer, you may be entitled to more than 1 lot of SMP. Although you may want to stop work in each job at the same time, you can still go on working longer with one of them if you feel you can do so. Your MPPs with each employer would then start at different times.

From government website.

Working in your Maternity Pay Period
If you are getting SMP from one employer and, before your baby is born, you do some work for another employer, your SMP is not affected

She's already on maternity leave from both jobs, has been since Feb and is receiving SMP from one of the jobs.
She's now gone back to work for the job that does not give her SMP so is now getting a wage and SMP. That does not sound at all correct?
What do you all think?
