Hello I'm new on this site, I wanted some information about Oxford due to new job, we have looked on different websites where not to live and areas that are nice but very expensive. The problem I'm having is that the websites are posting around 2010- 2011 and a lot can happen in that time so please any real good advice would be really grateful the job is near Oxford science park. Thank you

Do you want to live in Oxford and get the bus out or live in one of the nearby towns and take the bus or drive?

If you are driving one of the towns to the south would be best like Wallingford. It has a range of house types and budgets, is on the river and has fast buses into Oxford and Reading for shopping and nights out (until 3.30am if you are feeling wild) which outside of rush hour are only 30 minutes.

If you follow the road from the science park to Wallingford all the villages on route are nice. The only one to give a miss would be Berinsfield which is just an overflow from the Oxford council estates. Though the leisure centre is good as always quiet and the staff are nice.

Hello and welcome! Oxfordshire is fab and I hope you enjoy it once you're settled. I don't know the south side of Oxford so well, but would agree with ColdCottage that there are some nice villages and market towns south of Oxford. Depends what type of transport links you need and how far you want to commute. Sorry can't be of more use, but wanted to wish you luck with the move and hope you enjoy it when you're here :-)

Depends if u want little village or market town? West oxfordshire is pretty but u r in the car a lot if u live in a village. Witney is a good sized town, possibly range of prices of housing too.
