Help on build up of leave on Maternity Leave please

Can anybody help me with an annual leave query please as I have got myself in a muddle. I went on Maternity Leave in August 2013 and my year off ends right around now (gulp!).

I used up all my ML before going off as we're not allowed to carry it over. Does this mean I have a pro rata amount of leave from the start of the financial year April 2014 to my return in August 2014 to use? My manager is only just sorting out my return to work forms now after repeated phone calls and I just wanted to check it was accurate.

In your 2nd paragraph, did you mean to say you'd used all your annual leave before going on maternity leave?
If so, yes, it sounds like you'll have accrued leave since April 2014, BUT double check your entitlement to back-dated public holidays (Xmas and New Year 2013/14 and Easter 2014 as well as any local holidays).

Argh yes, sorry I used up annual leave before my maternity.

I will check the bank holidays as I always thought they didn't count but have heard that they do a couple of times recently.
